Marriage Notes:
Gataker-Porter. The marriage of Mr. James Gataker, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Gataker, of Maryborough, with Miss Porter, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Porter (Maryborough), took place nt St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, 14th instant. The Rev. Father Brady officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle (Mr. H. Coreer), wore a gown of embroidered silk, the bodice being arranged with frills of jewelled lace, the full trained skirt finished with flounces of handsome lace. Her tulle veil was embroidered with true lovers' knots, and was the work of St. Anne's Industrial School (Brisbane). She carried a beautiful bouquet of choice flowers, and wore v handsome pearl pendant and opal ring, all being gifts from the bridegroom. The five bridesmaids included Miss Coreer (cousin of the bride), Miss I. Moreton, Miss Fahey (cousin of the bride), Miss Doreen Mooney (cousin of the bride), and Mis* Minnie Gataker (niece of the bridegroom). The three first mentioned bridesmaids wore pretty frocks of pale blue crepe de Chine, the kimono bodices showing vest and sleeves of net and lace. Their white hats of fancy straw were swathed with tulle, and showed pink roses and large bows of silk. They carried crooks with beautiful white and pink flowers tied with pink tulle streamers. The two Email bridesmaids wore dainty frocks of white silk in "Kate Greenaway" style, and Juilettc caps of pearls. They also carried crooks with pink flowers end streamers, and all wore dainty broodies, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Stanley Warry (Maryborough) acted as best man, and Mr. B. Porter (brother of the bride), and Mr. Harold Corser (cousin of the bride), as groomsmen. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was 'held at the residence of the bride's parents, where a large marquee bad been erected on the lawn. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. James Gataker left by train for the Tweed Heads. Mrs. Gataker's travelling gown was composed of oyster gray eolienne, and her becoming hat of maize coloured straw was ornamented with pink roses. The wedding gifts were very numerous and handsome, and included many cheques from relatives.
