Born November 22nd 1926, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday 19th April 2018 at the Whitianga Oceania Continuing Care facility aged 91. Cherished husband of Valerie, wife of 68 years and dearly loved father of Michael, Grant and Dean, daughter-in-law Fatimah, grandchildren Vanessa, Jordan and Shannon. Loved by brother Eric and wife Rae and their sons Gavan and Brendon and wives Casey and Jenny. Thanks also to John's niece and nephew Jenny and Geoffrey Lyon for their support during our difficult passage. The Christie family also takes this opportunity to thank the staff, medical assistants and doctors who saw to John's comfort in his last days. A private cremation will take place at Tauranga and an eventual family gathering will be announced in good time.
