This family line is purly speculative based on the ASSUMPTION that Denis Twomey (b1841) changed his name to William Thomas Denis Thompson after he arrived in New Zealand and before he married in 1871.

He emigrated to Otago, New Zealand aboard "Aldinga 1" in Mar 1862 from Victoria, Australia. 2
It is assumed Denis sailed to Otago for the gold.
