Initally Frederick was buried with his crew in Saumlaki Cemetery, Taninbar Is. They were exhumed and reburied in the War Cemetery, Ambon Is. September 24, 1946 in one of the group of graves EC 11-16

Elmo Thompson was amoung those who enlisted.

In about 1940 Frederick William Elmo Thompson enlisten as an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force in Perth Western Australiain. His service number was 406741. On his enlistment form he noted Doris Thompson as next of kin. 10
